Can I run/walk the 5k trail race without participating in the Games (and vice versa)?
Yes, you may register for the 5K Trail Race (run or walk) and/or The Games separately, or together, or just watch as a spectator. Please note that due to insurance regulations, everyone must be registered to enter the gates.
NOTE: 5K trail is open for inspection and training during Fontanel’s business hours every day during the week and only closed during business hours if a concert is taking place. Check show dates at http://fontanelmansion.com/events or call their office at 615-724-1600 to see if there are any last-minutes changes which would prohibit you from accessing the trail.
Can I bring a running stroller for the 5K?
Due to the terrain of the trail race, running strollers are NOT permitted on the trail during the 5K.
What about strollers, lawnchairs, pop-ups, awnings, coolers, blankets, etc. for the Games?
Yes, all are permitted for the Games since it is a grassy area the size of a football field.
Who is eligible to participate?
The Fatherhood Games are fun for everyone! Dads and sons, mothers and daughters, aunts and uncles, grandparents and great grandparents, friends and neighbors — everyone ages 1 to 101* will have a blast. (*You must be age 7 and over to participate in the 5K.)

This is an outdoor event with lots of physical activity so wear your play clothes and you might even want to bring a change of outfits for yourself and/or the kiddos.
What if my son/daughter doesn’t have a father/mother to compete with?
Moms, grandmoms, grandpops, aunts, uncles (or guardians), older brothers & sisters, etc. are also welcome to compete with the kids. We’ll have some volunteers who’ll be willing to be a “big buddy” (special assistance). Let us know you need one (or want to be one) by filling out the contact form at the bottom of the page.
Any food and drinks available?
Included with every registration is: a free continental breakfast, tasty snacks, bottled water, good music, hot air balloon rides, lots of inflatables and Fontanel tour… in other words, lots of great fun and an excellent value for the whole family! You are also welcome to bring your own food and beverages and, in fact, some families bring a cooler, blanket or similar ground cover, and/or folding chairs along with a picnic lunch to enjoy during the games.
In addition, Cafe Fontanella is located on the premises offering an award-winning menu with something for every discerning pallet.
Any charge for the hot air balloon rides?
FREE hot air balloon rides will be available throughout the morning (weather permitting). Go to new heights and see the games from a whole new perspective. Click here to see some of the fun we had last year!
Any charge to tour The Fontanel Mansion?
The Fontanel gives each participant one complimentary admission for a tour of the mansion in each event grab bag. Tours do not begin until 10 AM and you must go to the “Ticket Office” and give them your pass prior to visiting the mansion for your free tour ticket to be honored. Call their office for more information at 615-724-1600.
Any maps I can print?
Who sponsors/benefits from this?
The Fatherhood Games are sponsored by and benefit the Family Foundation Fund, a non-profit organization based out of Nashville, TN whose mission is to nurture boys with absent fathers into successful, Christ-centered manhood and to inspire and equip them to be fathers that impact the destiny of future generations.
Need any volunteers to help?
